Testing the response of Spiny toads to part-time and full time lighting at night
The dataset provides the activity data of wild caught male spiny toads (Bufo spinosus) recorded using videotracking in 1-m wide arenas. The experiment tested the response of toads to part-time and full time lighting at night in order to assess the interest of part-time lighting as a mitigation measure for light pollution. We recorded the distance travelled in the arena and the time spent in the shelter. Analyses were carried out in two ways by considering (1) 20-minutes slotes every 2-hours from 21:00 to 07:00, and (2) the periods when transitions occurred in the part-time treatment, i.e. when light were switched off and on. Behaviour was recorded 30' before and 30' after the transitions occurred respectively at 23;00 and 05:00
