Energy dissipation from microstructure shear south of New Caledonia, Southwest Pacific (VMP data, SWOTALIS-3 cruise)

Data were collected using a VMP-250 (manufactured by Rockland, Canada), a tethered instrument recording microstructure shear and temperature in free-fall downcasts, during the SWOTALIS-3 cruise (2023) south of New Caledonia, southwestern Pacific – see attached figure for the location of stations SWOTALIS_{1,2,3,4,5,6,7}. A paper is in preparation for publication in Scientific Data to document the processing that led to the final dataset archived here. Data were processed following the best practices recommendations in Lueck et al. (2024) and data format follows Fer et al. (2024).
