Mott insulating ruthenates with electronic configuration d4 have attracted attention of researchers due to novel electronics states such. In the limit of strong spin-orbit coupling, in cubic limit, the ground state is non-magnetic J = 0 and separated by the J =1 state, with spin-orbit coupling (λ). A quantum critical point separating the non-magnetic ground state with the ordered state is therefore expected in this system. These exotic state near the quantum critical point can be accessed through pressure, applied current, and chemical doping . Here, we have taken a route of chemical doping to access the states near the quantum critical point via Sn doping at the Ru site (5 and 10% doping). The present proposal aims to determine the magnetic ground state of Ca2Ru(1-x)SnxO4 (x = 0.05 amd 0.1), by carrying out time of fligt neutron diffraction experiemnts using the GEM instrument.
