Northampton Infirmary Admission Registers

This dataset comprises the admission and discharge registers for the Northampton Infirmary (1744-1804), later Northampton General Hospital. The original records are curated at the Northampton General Hospital Museum and Archive. Ages are recorded for inpatients from 1744 to 1804, while the reason for admission (i.e., distemper) is recorded from 1744 to 1801. The years 1797 and 1798 are missing. All registers were transcribed verbatim. Recorders added a Sex column and estimated sex based upon patient names. Recorders also added an Extra Notes column to record observations. Blank cells mean there was a blank in the original record. Column A (File Name) provides accession numbers from the Northampton General Hospital Museum and Archive. Page numbers refer to the number of the page in the original register. Dates are provided as DD/MM/YYYY.
