Two new transition coordination polymers (CPs) with the chemical formula of {[Zn<sub>4</sub>(dip)<sub>4</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2</sub>(4-ppbp)<sub>2</sub>]<b>·</b>12H<sub>2</sub>O}<i><sub>n</sub></i> (<b>1</b>, H<sub>2</sub>dpa = diphenic acid, 4-ppbp = (propane-1,3-diylbis(piperazine-4,1-diyl))bis(pyridin-4-ylmethanone)) and [Co(dipH)<sub>2</sub>(bdin)]<i><sub>n</sub></i> (<b>2</b>, bdin = N,N-(butane-1,3-diyl)diisonicotinamide) have been successfully prepared by reaction of the corresponding metal salts with the H<sub>2</sub>dpa ligand in the presence of different flexible dipyridylamide ligands. Its treatment activity combined with epidural anesthesia for hip replacement was evaluated. First, the hip replacement operation was carried on experimental mice, followed by the compound given combined with epidural anesthesia. The animal survival rate as well as the rate of anesthesia was recorded and analyzed. In addition to this, the blood pressure level of the mice was also determined throughout the procession of the hip replacement operation.
