Panel Dataset: Geopolitical Risk, Foreign Direct Investment, and Trade — 72 Countries, 2000-2024

This dataset contains a balanced panel of 72 countries over the period 2000-2024 (1,800 country-year observations), including the Geopolitical Risk (GPR) index (Caldara & Iacoviello, 2022), foreign direct investment, international trade, GDP growth, trade openness, institutional quality (World Bank Worldwide Governance Indicators), inflation, population, the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), real effective exchange rate, and real interest rate (World Bank World Development Indicators). A methodological notes sheet documents the source, coverage, and treatment of each variable. This dataset supports the manuscript "Geopolitical risk and its impact on international business strategies," submitted to Cogent Business & Management.
