Whole Genome Sequencing of Lactobacillus salivarius Strain LS-122

This project presents the complete genome sequence of Lactobacillus salivarius strain LS-122, isolated from the intestinal tract of a loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus). Strain LS-122 demonstrates strong probiotic traits, including antagonistic activity against aquatic bacterial pathogens such as Aeromonas hydrophila and adhesion capabilities to intestinal mucus. Genomic analysis of this strain will elucidate the genetic basis for its adaptation to the fish gut environment, its mechanisms of pathogen inhibition, and its safety profile for use as a novel, antibiotic-alternative probiotic in sustainable aquaculture practices.
