资源简介:
This dataset presents a novel approach by employing a single-case design that integrates psychological and physiological measures, collected using the Empatica E4 wristband, to evaluate a teacher stress reduction intervention within the framework of functional psychotherapy. In this study, the variables that were measured as dependent included perceived stress (PS), heart rate (HR), peripheral skin temperature (PST), and both phasic and tonic electrodermal activity (EDA). A single-case design with an AB format was used. The subject’s PS level was evaluated using Elo, Lappenen, and Jahkola’s single-item measure of stress symptoms (2003) sent via WhatsApp one hour before the scheduled meetings. The item read as follows: “Stress means a situation in which a person feels tense, restless, nervous or anxious, or is unable to sleep at night because his/her mind is troubled all the time. Do you feel this kind of stress these days?”. Rebecca was asked to rate their response using a 5-point Likert scale that ranged from “not at all” to “very much”. HR, PST, and EDA were measured using the Empatica E4, a wrist-worn device equipped with sensors that are specifically designed to collect high-quality physiological data (McCarthy, Pradhan, Redpath, & Adler, 2016; Schuurmans et al, 2020). The baseline was established over 4 weeks in which the participant wore the Empatica E4 during four 60-minute school lessons. Subsequently, the participant underwent an intervention for stress reduction, which was defined within the framework of functional psychotherapy (Rispoli, De Vita, 2016) and lasted approximately 60 minutes for each of the nine sessions.
