Spanish Land Movements Map at a scale of 1:1.000.000

Map on which areas with different types of terrain movements are delimited, representing the most intense and frequent movements. It therefore points to the distribution and extension of the most problematic areas from a practical point of view. The movements of the terrain are classified into four main groups: horizontal component movements (slides and landslides), vertical component movements (runnings and subsidences, and clay expansion), unstable processes in coastal areas and mining-related movements. Areas with important erosive processes are also included. This map, published in 1987, was prepared entirely by staff of the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain in response to information needs relating to geological hazards and risks at national level.
