Environmental samples, including sediments, surface water, and drinking well water, were collected in June, 2023, in East Palestine, OH four months after the train derailment accident. Microcosm treatability study was performed to evaluate the natural attenuation potential and microbiome response to the toxic chemical spill. This dataset includes 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing data of environmental samples and vinyl chloride-degrading microcosm samples.
