The dataset contains the following component of the CERS: biodiversity reservoirs corridors.

Biodiversity reservoirs are spaces in which biodiversity is richest or best represented, where species can complete all or part of their life cycle and where natural habitats can function, including sufficient size. They are home to nuclei of species populations from which individuals disperse. They are likely to accommodate new populations of species. They include all or some of the protected areas and the natural areas that are important for the preservation of regional, national or European biodiversity.
