SrCl3 crystallizes in the hexagonal P6_3/mmc space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Sr is bonded to twelve equivalent Cl atoms to form a mixture of corner and face-sharing SrCl12 cuboctahedra. There are six shorter (3.17 Å) and six longer (3.36 Å) Sr–Cl bond lengths. Cl is bonded in a see-saw-like geometry to four equivalent Sr atoms.
三氯化锶(SrCl₃)结晶于六方晶系P6₃/mmc空间群。其结构为三维空间结构。锶原子与十二个等价的氯原子成键,形成兼具共顶点与共面特征的SrCl₁₂立方八面体配位多面体。该体系中存在6根键长为3.17 Å的较短Sr-Cl键,以及6根键长为3.36 Å的较长Sr-Cl键。氯原子以跷跷板型配位几何与四个等价的锶原子成键。
