资源简介:
Subclinical mastitis (SCM) poses a significant yet often undiagnosed challenge in the dairy industries of Bangladesh, with prevalence rates of 60 to 77 per cent in cattle and about per cent in buffaloes. Unlike clinical mastitis (CM), SCM lacks visible symptoms but is marked by elevated somatic cell counts in milk and occurs 15 to 40 times more frequently than CM. Its hidden nature contributes to greater economic losses within dairy herds. Around 70 per cent of cases are caused by bacterial infections, while 30 per cent result from non infectious factors such as physical trauma. Major bacterial pathogens include Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, coagulase negative staphylococci, and various Streptococcus species.
