Mixture of toxic pressure surface water — plant protection products

This map gives an overview of the toxic pressure of the mixture to plant protection products in Dutch surface water. Toxic pressure is important because chemical pollution affects aquatic life communities, as well as a signal that measures must be taken to make the water suitable for all kinds of social purposes (drinking water, irrigation, etc.). All points where water samples have been taken for the measurement of substances during the period 2013-2018 are shown. The toxic pressure is displayed in five classes of increasing toxic pressure. Increasing toxic pressure means that the aquatic life community is increasingly hampered, causing more and more species to disappear.
