Exploring the mechanisms responsible for the modulating role of frowning in emotional reasoning: an ERP study

We aimed to explore the mechanisms underlying the modulating role of frowning in emotional reaosning. We measured ERPs during a reasoning task with emotional and neutral content. In one block, participants were asked to voluntarily frown while solving reasoning problems. In another block (control condition), they were asked to contract a non-facial muscle while solving similar problems.
