TAC with clodronate liposomes

Male mice were used in the experiments. All experiments were approved by the Ethics Committee for Animal Experiments of the University of Tokyo and strictly adhered to the guidelines of the University of Tokyo for animal experiments. TAC was performed on 8 week old male mice.The transverse aorta was ligated with a 7-0 silk suture using a 26gauge blunt needle, which was removed after the ligation. A total of 10 microl of clodronate liposome aqueous solution per gram of mouse (500 mg/kg/body) or a total of 10 microl of control liposome aqueous solution per gram of mouse was intraperitoneally administered 2 days before and on the day of transverse aortic constriction (TAC). The transcriptome of clodronate liposomes or control liposomes after TAC were compared.
