Macrobond Pay-As-You-Go Data

The Macrobond data feed available on Snowflake can deliver any of the time series belonging to the Macrobond's database, via a Private Share. Before reaching this step, you can also access a sample Public Share for free for a limited period of time.

# The Data:

Collected from over 2,500 national and international sources, supplemented by third-party premium databases available on Macrobond ONE: [https://www.macrobond.com/solutions/macrobond-one](https://www.macrobond.com/solutions/macrobond-one) (subject to licensing), it offers access to the broadest macroeconomic and financial time series database in the world. From developed to emerging and frontier markets, time series are delivered with full history, an extensive set of **metadata**, and **point-in-time vintages** where available.

Time series updates are pushed into your Snowflake tables and views in real-time as well as delivered instantly when you add or remove time series from your universe, through a dedicated Macrobond data feed management portal.

# How does it work?

1. **[Provided by Macrobond]** Find the time series you need via Macrobond Data Explorer at https://amplify.macrobond.com/dataexplorer

2. **[Provided by Macrobond]** Subscribe to one of the yearly data plans provided by Macrobond Pay-As-You-Go and add the time series you need to the management portal

3. **[Provided in Snowflake]** Consume the selected time series in your Snowflake instance from the table and views below:<br/>

- **[TABLE] MAIN_ENTITY**: to retrieve all of your time series with dates, values, metadata, and vintages. Time series are provided in nested objects.
- **[VIEWS] LATEST_ENTITY**: to retrieve the latest version of each time series only, derived from the latest vintage available in MAIN_ENTITY, containing dates and values, and metadata.
- **[TABLE] REVISION**: to access point-in-time vintages of your time series (where applicable)
- **[VIEWS] SUBSCRIPTION**: providing a summary of your subscribed universe with a few metadata fields such 'number of revisions' or 'last update in Snowflake'

Make a use of Snowflake's SQL queries (see examples below) to flatten the json objects and retrieve a tabular version of your time series and the associated metadata fields.
