Piezometric stations

The freatimetric network allows to monitor, with regularity and continuity, the static levels of the groundwater upstream of the Risorgive Line, on the morainic hills north of Udine, in the Piana di Gemona-Osoppo and in the Upper valley of the Tagliamento river. The monitoring activity, which began in the 1930s by the then Hydrographic Office of the Magistrate at the Waters of Venice, gradually expanded, by the Regional Administration, from the end of the 1960s to the whole Friuli plain and other areas of interest. There are currently more than 200 wells active in the network, fairly homogeneously distributed throughout the territory.
