We aim to investigate the crystal structure of (x)BiFeO3-(1-x)BaTiO3 relaxor ferroelectric compounds in the Bi rich part of the phase diagram, with particular attention to the a morphotropic phase boundary composition (x=0.67) which display outstanding electromechanical properties, despite its apolar cubic structure. XRPD/PDF and EXAFS will supply complementary information at the average, nanometre and local scale, respectively, to build an exhaustive structural picture of this fascinating solid solution in the Bi rich part of the phase diagram.
