In an effort to dissect the genetic architecture of sunflower domestication a mapping population of 378 F2 progeny was developed from the cross 'Ann1238' x 'Hopi'. The plants were genotyped with SSR, SSCP and CAPS markers. Also QTLs analysis was performed for days to flower, stem diameter, height, number of leaves on main stem, leaf size, number of branches, disc diameter, number of ray flowers, number of selfed seeds, achene weight, shattering, and seed germination.
