IODP Expedition 399 Thin section images

Hard rock and sediment thin section images were acquired using either the JRSO-developed Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool (PICAT) imager or (rarely) an upright microscope and a digital camera. Sample images are acquired in unpolarized, polarized, and/or cross-polarized light. Image files are presented compressed by hole.硬岩与沉积岩薄片图像可通过两类设备采集：其一为JRSO研发的岩相图像捕获与存档工具（Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool，缩写PICAT）成像仪，极少数情况下则采用正置显微镜与数码相机的组合方案。样本图像可在非偏振光、偏振光及正交偏振光三种光照条件下完成采集。所提供的图像文件均按钻孔单元进行压缩存储。
