Streptococcus intermedius is known to cause periodontitis and pyogenic infection in brain and liver, we report the complete genome sequences of TYG1620 strain isolated from brain abscess in infant. TYG1620 can be grown under anaerobic cultivation, and it shows strong auto-aggregation. To elucidate the pathogenicity of TYG1620, complete genome sequence of TYG1620 was determined, followed by comparative genome analysis, transcriptome analysis, random transposon mutagenesis and identification of gene involving in murine subcutaneous abscess formation.
