LINGUOCULTURAL ASPECTS OF SIMILES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK PROVERBS

Language and culture are inseparably connected, and this relationship is clearly reflected in proverbs. Proverbs serve as a mirror of a nation’s historical experience, worldview, moral values, and traditions. Among various stylistic devices used in proverbs, similes play a significant role in creating expressiveness, imagery, and emotional impact. This thesis aims to analyze the linguocultural aspects of similes in English and Uzbek proverbs, identifying both universal and culture-specific features.语言与文化密不可分，这一关系在谚语中体现得尤为鲜明。谚语是一个民族历史经验、世界观、道德观念与文化传统的生动写照。在谚语所运用的各类修辞手段中，明喻（simile）对于增强表达效果、塑造意象以及传递情感冲击力发挥着至关重要的作用。本论文旨在剖析英语与乌兹别克语谚语中明喻的语言文化维度，甄别其中兼具普遍性与文化特异性的特征。
