Environmental and diversity claims of S&P 500 firms

This repository makes available parts of the data used in: Preuss, S., & Max, M.M. (in press). Do firms put their money where their mouth is? Sociopolitical claims and corporate political activity. Accounting, Organizations and Society, 101510. Specifically, it contains:

<li> environmental and diversity claims scores (2010-2020)
<li> politicians covered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), including their Federal Election Committee (FEC), Votesmart and Charles Stewart congressional committee identifiers; this data includes all HRC/LCV rated politicians that we could locate in the FEC dataset "Contributions from committees to candidate" (111th-116th Congress)
