Low Power Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) — Coverage — Feb–2021

Data collected by Brisbane City Council on actual LoRaWAN coverage in Brisbane on The Things Network. Data collected on Brisbane City Council’s LoRaWAN network between September 2020 and February 2021. This data was captured by Council in collaboration with SUEZ from signals sent by devices attached to recycling waste collection vehicles. The data includes device ID, location of the device when sending signal, signal strength (RSSI and SNR) and gateway receiving the signal on The Things Network. Attributes in this dataset: LocalTime: The time in Brisbane time when the gateway received the message from the device Device_id: The device identifier for the oyster device that sent the message Gateway_id: The gateway identifier for the gateway registered on The Things Network that received the message BCC_Gateway: Whether the gateway that received the message is owned by Brisbane City Council Latitude: The latitude value sent by the oyster device in the message payload Longitude: The longitude value sent by the oyster device in the message payload RSSI: The Received Signal Strength Indicator value provided by the gateway based on the message received from the oyster device SNR: The Signal to Noise Rate value provided by the gateway based on the message received from the oyster device.
