STORYTELLING, TRIAL, AND TRANSFORMATION: THE MENTOR ARCHETYPE IN CONTEMPORARY UZBEK AND ENGLISH CHILDREN'S FICTION

These theses compare Luqmon Bo’rixon’s novella Sirli muallim and Patrick Ness’s A Monster Calls in order to show that contemporary children’s prose, in cultures as distant as Uzbek and English, continues to perform spiritual education through one shared fairy-tale archetype: the enigmatic guide who imposes a trial and, through it, transforms the young protagonist’s inner life. The shared structure and its national variations are briefly characterised.本系列研究论文以卢克蒙·博里洪（Luqmon Bo’rixon）的中篇小说《谢尔利·穆阿利姆》（Sirli muallim）与帕特里克·内斯（Patrick Ness）的《怪物来敲门》（A Monster Calls）为比较对象，旨在阐明：在乌兹别克文化与英语文化这类差异显著的语境中，当代儿童散文仍通过一类共通的童话原型开展精神教化——即那位设置试炼、并借此重塑少年主角内心世界的神秘引路人。 本文简要梳理了二者共通的叙事结构及其各自的民族性变体。
