VPRS 5377 Rule Book

During the course of a civil action, rules nisi may be made. These are any decree or order etc which is made but does not take immediate effect. The defendant must present before the judge who issued the rule on a set date to show cause why the rule issued should not be enforced (or made absolute). On this date, the judge will decide whether to enforce or discharge the rule.This series lists all the civil cases in which a nisi rule was issued. It also lists rules not applied for during a civil case. Documentation of those relating to a civil case may be found in VPRS 5377 Civil Briefs. Details given in this series are the number, the date of the motion, when the rule was issued and when it was returnable, the number of the action (the case number), the names of the plaintiff and defendant and of their attorneys, the nature of the rule, the judgment delivered and the date if postponed.

民事诉讼程序进行期间，可作出暂准命令（rules nisi）。此类命令指一经作出但暂不立即生效的任何判决、裁定或其他类似文书。被告须于指定日期到庭接受签发该命令的法官询问，说明为何不应执行（或转为绝对生效）该已签发命令的理由。于该庭审日，法官将裁定是否执行该命令或予以撤销。
本数据集收录所有已签发暂准命令的民事诉讼案件，同时亦收录民事诉讼程序中未获申请的相关命令。相关民事诉讼案件的档案文档可于VPRS 5377《民事案卷》中查询。本数据集收录的详情包括：命令编号、动议日期、命令签发日期与回复日期、诉讼案号（即案件编号）、原告、被告及其代理律师的姓名、命令的性质、已作出的判决，以及若判决延期则记录的延期日期。
