Data were extracted for analysis based on variables that were theoretically and empirically linked to the uptake of ≥3 doses of IPTp-SP as follow: (a) the dependent variable was the number of women who had received less than three doses of IPTp-SP (Poor uptake of ≥3 doses of IPTp-SP) ; (b) Independent variables comprised woman’s age, stay in the place of residence, woman’s highest educational level, religion, literacy, wealth, health insurance coverage, occupational status, matrimonial status, partner’s highest level of education, region, area of residence, area’s malaria prevalence, wanted pregnancy, parity, history of a terminated pregnancy, ANC highest attendant, number of ANC visits. Variables regarding pregnancy and prenatal care were relative to the most recent live birth.
