Could the microbial profiling of normal pancreatic tissue from healthy organ donors contribute to understanding the intratumoral microbiota signature in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma?

This study analyzes the microbial composition of pancreatic tissues from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patients and healthy individuals using 16S rRNA sequencing. Significant differences in microbial diversity and taxa abundance were observed between tumor, adjacent normal, and healthy pancreatic tissues, highlighting potential microbiota-driven mechanisms in PDAC progression.
