WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from D. R. RAY in the NW Pacific from 1992-05-07 to 1992-06-07 (NODC Accession 9200138)

The data in this accession were collected in NW Pacific (limit-180) from ship D. R. RAY between May 7, 1992 to June 7, 1992. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the US Navy. Radio logs are forms that contain time, weather latitude/longitude, vessel id, ship id, etc. These are radioed every two hours to some military center. One line per strip chart. Some strip charts have time /date /ship id /latitude /longitude annotated on the strip chart. Seventeen stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC. The XBT data from these stripcharts have been digitized and are present in the current NODC data storage system in C116 file format.

本次入库数据集的采集工作于1992年5月7日至6月7日期间，在西北太平洋（经度限值180°）由D. R. RAY号船舶完成。美国海军使用纸带记录仪记录了变深探温仪（XBT，Expendable Bathythermograph）采集的不同深度海水温度实时数据。无线电日志为包含时间、气象、经纬度、船舶标识、船只编号等信息的表单，每两小时将相关信息无线电传输至某军事指挥中心。每份纸带记录仪对应一条记录行。部分纸带记录仪上标注有时间、日期、船只编号、经纬度等信息。共计17份纸带记录仪记录文件及无线电日志已提交至国家海洋数据中心（NODC，National Oceanographic Data Center）。上述纸带记录仪记录的XBT数据已完成数字化处理，目前以C116文件格式存储于该中心当前的数据存储系统中。
