Schnabelkanne, beak-spouted flagon

A beak-spouted flagon of beaten bronze on a splayed base with a bulbous shoulder, narrow neck and flat rimmed pouring mouth. The cast handle has a terminal on the body, decorated with a palmette, S-spirals and scrolls ending in a lotus flower above and a lyre below. Above, the handle forks ending in two animal heads with setback ears appearing to represent crouching felines. This is a type known as 'Schnabelkanne', a distinctly 'Celtic' style manufactured from the late sixth-century BC in Etruria. They were often placed in Celtic princely graves and traces of wine have been found in some flagons.这件器口呈喙状的锤揲青铜执壶，底座外撇，肩部圆鼓，颈部窄细，流口带有平沿。其铸制执柄的末端附于器身，装饰有棕榈叶饰（palmette）、S形螺旋纹，以及上下分别以莲花与里拉琴收尾的涡卷纹饰。执柄向上分叉，末端为两只耳郭后收的兽首，造型似蜷伏的猫科动物。该器型名为喙柄壶（Schnabelkanne），是公元前6世纪晚期在伊特鲁里亚（Etruria）制作的典型凯尔特风格器物。这类器物常随葬于凯尔特贵族墓葬中，部分执壶内还发现了葡萄酒残留痕迹。
