Extending Wildlife Habitat by Rehabilitating Priority Coastal and Inland Areas

This project will continue to work with community groups, to further revegetate another six eroded sites and to coordinate three public forums to show case this work to the boarder community, in the West Midlands region. This will be achieved by planting 6,000 local native seedlings, erecting informative visitor signage and sharing project learning’s and successes during forums. These sites will increase the extent of native habitat available to wildlife, in particular the endangered Black Carnaby Cockatoo. The importance of planting local provenance seedlings will be voiced through media articles and the West Midland Group website and facebook page.

本项目将持续与社区团体开展合作，在西米德兰兹郡（West Midlands）区域内，对另外6处受侵蚀地块推进植被修复工作，并协调举办三场公共论坛，向周边社区展示本次项目的实施成果。本次修复工作将通过种植6000株本地原生苗木、设置科普性游客标识，以及在论坛中分享项目经验与成果来完成。这些修复地块将扩大本地原生栖息地的覆盖范围，为野生动物提供更优质的生存环境，特别是濒危的黑凤头鹦鹉（Black Carnaby Cockatoo）。项目方将通过媒体文章、西米德兰兹工作组（West Midland Group）官网及Facebook平台，宣传采用本地种源苗木进行种植的重要性。
