Powercor distribution network GIS data for assets in West Victoria and active power per substation at 30-minute intervals from 2023 to 2024 for postcode 3216.

This DAP entry describes the raw data used for low-voltage network modelling, representing a region with both urban and rural systems, and could be used for other research purposes.

In general, the raw dataset contains comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) data for Powercor's electricity distribution network. The data includes detailed spatial and attribute information about electrical infrastructure assets, including cables, lines, transformers, poles, substations, switches, and public lighting. A supplementary CSV file (TX_Details.csv) provides enhanced transformer specifications and ratings.

An additional time-series dataset provides 30-minute interval load profiles for transformers in postal code 3216, spanning January 2023 to December 2024. This load data can be linked to the network GIS data using transformer identifiers.

Only CSIRO staff can be the Recipient of these data for the Permitted Purpose stated below.

Permitted Purpose: This dataset is provided for the Recipient to:
- analyse the Data including by combining the Data with other data and using third party software modelling tools;
- use Data as input for scripts developed for spatially explicit network models and power flow analysis; and
- produce and publish papers and reports discussing the results of the analysis of the Data and interplay between residential buildings and the electricity grid, representative distribution network model using medium, low-voltage
feeders and an understanding of hosting capacity with Distributed Energy Resources.

Data is available for access subject to the Permitted Purpose and the terms and conditions of the data sharing agreement. This data is classed as confidential and cannot be shared with any collaborators outside CSIRO. CSIRO staff seeking access to this data must request access from the data custodian, acknowledge that they understand and agree to the Permitted Purpose and terms and conditions before the dataset is provided for use.
