"This article presents the results of an assessment of the impact of sea state on the accuracy of determining the speed of a surface vessel using the spectrum of a radar wake image. Using synthetic radar images, the dependences of the standard deviation of the unbiased error in measuring the speed of a surface vessel as a function of sea state and as a function of the vessel\u2019s speed at a fixed sea state are obtained. Approximation expressions are derived to describe the dependences obtained through mathematical modeling."
