The first part of the experiment: The goal of these experiments is to evaluate stability of the Pt-Ni electrocatalyst /Ionic liquid (IL) interfaces, promising catalytic systems for electrosynthesis of valuable chemicals. ILs can show beneficial or detrimental effects for catalyst stability in addition to modifying the activity and selectivity, which is crucial in electrosynthesis. These experiments aim to close the existing knowledge gap by providing systematic data on the changes in Ni oxidation and electronic state in alloys of various compositions in dependence on the electrochemical potential and presence of ILs. The second part of the experiment: This proposal aims to be a preliminary study of the local structure of Pt particles dispersed on CaTi1-xFexO3-δ, with x= 0.1, 0.3, 0.4, 0.7 during H2 in situ reduction.
