The draft genome sequence of Festuca glaucescens (Festuca arundinacea Schreb. subsp. Fenas (Lag.) Arcang.)

Whole genome sequencing (WGS) of Festuca glaucescens (= Festuca arundinacea Schreb. subsp. Fenas (Lag.) Arcang;= F. arundinacea var. glaucescens Boiss.) was conducted. This species is a cross-pollinated allotetraploid (2n = 4x = 28) . It is postulated to be a sub-genome donor to the allohexaploid and octoploid species of Festuca genus including, F. arundinacea Schreb. High molecular weight (HMW) genomic DNA was extracted from Fg1 genotype derived from the Institute of Plant Genetics Polish Academy of Sciences using Nanobind Plant Nuclei Big DNA Kit (Circulomics, PacBio, USA). WGS was performed by Macrogen (Seoul, Korea) using combined sequencing approach of PacBio Sequel II - 1 SMRTCell (CCS/HiFi) (Pacific Biosciences) and Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platforms. Submitted WGS data have high applicable value for functional analyses.
