We studied induction of a newly discovered class of mobile genetic elements, helper-embedded satellites (HE-PICI), using the strain Escherichia coli NRG857c, which has the HE-PICI 11capE integrated within the prophage 50icd. This is a 5-point time course of induction by mitomycin C.
