VPRS 8871 In-Committee Minutes

This series consists of volumes containing minutes of "In Committee" Meetings of the Geelong Regional Planning Authority (GRPA).The GRPA at its meetings would pass a resolution to go into committee to discuss subjects which required to be discussed in "". The "In Committee" resolutions were confirmed at the Authority's meetings. The Authority's minutes recorded its resolution to go into committee, subjects discussed and the "In Committee" resolutions confirmed.The subjects discussed during "In Commitee" meetings were minuted and maintained separately from the minutes of meetings of the GRPA located in VPRS 8868. The subjects discussed related to various issues eg. legal proceedings in connection with planning prosecutions, staff appointments, crown solicitor's opinion sought on various issues.Series Date RangeThis series appears to have commenced in 1975. It is not known whether the system of meeting "In Committee" was in use prior to 1975 as the minutes of the meetings of the Authority prior to 1975 do not record Authority's decision to meet "In Committee". This series ended in 1977 when a separate sequence of volumes was created for the "In Committee" meetings of the Geelong Regional Commission.
