Genome sequencing of cultured Pyropia yezoensis from Japan

Pyropia yezoensis is an edible seaweed species mainly cultivated in East Asia. In Japan, several cultivars with distinct characteristics have been produced. Our aim is to sequence and analyze the genomes of these cultivars.
