Results of the by-elections of 22 October 2022

The French living abroad have a very comprehensive mechanism of political representation with elected representatives specifically representing them in national bodies and local elected representatives. They can vote abroad for national elections (presidential, legislative and European elections as well as referendums) and elections for French advisers abroad and consular delegates when they are registered on the consular electoral list. Following the decision of the Council of State of 24 June 2022 leading to the cancellation of the May 29, 2021 consular election in Canada’s fourth electoral district, including the cities of Montreal, Ottawa and Moncton, a by-election was held there on October 22, 2022.旅居海外的法国公民拥有极为完善的政治代表体系：设有专门在国家机构中代表其权益的当选代表，以及地方民选代表。凡在领事选举名册完成登记的海外法国公民，可在境外参与全国性选举（包括总统选举、议会选举、欧洲议会选举及全民公投），同时亦可参与法国海外顾问与领事代表的选举。 根据法国国家行政法院（Council of State）2022年6月24日作出的裁决，原定于2021年5月29日在加拿大第四选举区（涵盖蒙特利尔、渥太华及蒙克顿市）举行的领事选举被撤销，该选区随后于2022年10月22日举行了补选。
