Gold Votive Figure (Tunjo) Musica Culture

This piece is a votive figure from the ancient Muisca Civilization in what is now Colombia. These votive figures, called Tunjo, were part of important ceremonies worshiping the goddess Guatavita. Due to the abundance and importance of gold in the Muisca Civilization, these worship ceremonies involved throwing golden tunjos, gold power, and other gold artefacts into Guatavita's lake.此件为今哥伦比亚境内古穆伊斯卡（Muisca）文明的供像。这类被称为通霍（Tunjo）的供像，是供奉瓜塔维塔（Guatavita）女神的重要祭祀仪式的组成部分。鉴于黄金在穆伊斯卡文明中储量丰沛且地位举足轻重，此类祭祀仪式会将金制通霍、金质权柄及其他黄金文物投入瓜塔维塔湖内。
