16S rRNA gene sequencing of organ preservation solution from liver transplant

This study investigates the microbial composition of preservation fluid used in liver transplantation. Samples were collected from liver grafts immediately prior to implantation. Microbial DNA was extracted, and the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was amplified and sequenced using the Ion Torrent platform. The goal is to characterize the bacterial communities present in the preservation fluid and to explore potential correlations with post-transplant clinical outcomes. This dataset contributes to the understanding of microbial exposure and risk assessment in the context of solid organ transplantation.
