As of June 2014, the global aviation database provided by OpenFlights contains 67,663 route records sourced from 3,321 airports across 548 international airlines. These routes are directional. Each raw route record includes a flight identifier, departure airport code, arrival airport code, and the number of stopovers for the corresponding flight. Through data processing, the codes of the origin and destination airports in the raw dataset are mapped to the geographic latitude and longitude coordinates of the respective airports. This dataset can be utilized to analyze the distribution of aviation routes and gain insights into air traffic patterns.
