Data for Lexicon of Oriental Words in Ancient Greek (Selected Problems)

<p>The aim of this chapter is to present the <em>Lexicon of Oriental Words in Ancient Greek</em>, which currently being prepared in both electronic and book form. The lexicon will contain common words (loanwords and glosses) that derive from <span style="color:black">Anatolian, Armenian, Austroasiatic, Cushitic, Dravidian, Egyptian, Hurro-Urartian, Indo-Aryan, Iranian, Kartvelian, Phrygian, Semitic, Sino-Tibetan and other Eastern languages. </span>It will also include vocabulary of uncertain provenance (especially <em>Wanderwörter</em>). The data will cover two millennia of the history of the Greek language, i.e. from the Mycenaean period to the 6th cent. CE.</p>
