NRS-4694 | Salary registers [Newcastle]

These registers record the payments of salaries to staff of the Harbour Department, Local Marine Board and Navigation Department who were employed at Newcastle. Although there is considerable variation in the format of the volumes in this series, they basically record the same information. For each month is recorded: name of employee and position held, annual and monthly salary, superannuation deductions and amount payable. The final volume in the series (34/3274) also records: provident number, date of appointment or promotion, number of superannuation units, age next birthday, commencing date of deduction, deduction of superannuation per four weeks and net amount per four weeks.
