Map of solar energy potential

The main datasets used in making the map are the measurements of global solar radiation (W/m²), taken at the meteorological stations in the National Meteorological Administration network between 1983 and 2005, as well as the information obtained from the processing of the SIS-SARAH satellite product (Surface Incoming Solar Radiation) extracted from the CM-SAF archive (Satellite Application Facility on Climate Monitoring -http://www.cmsaf.eu/). The maps are obtained using the Regression Kriging interpolation method, using which, in the spatialisation procedure, along with the global solar radiation data recorded at the level of the meteorological stations, SIS-SARAH information is also used. Interpolated data is stored in GeoTiff files at a spatial resolution of 1kmx1km in Stereographic coordinate system 1970.
