Mixed-phase cloud cases from TROPOS lidar-radar observations over Limassol and Punta Arenas

This data are stratiform mixed-phase cloud cases observed together by ground-based lidar and radar over Limassol, Cyprus and Punta Arenas, Chile. The observations are conducted by the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS) from Germany. There are 12 cases from Limassol and 8 cases from Punta Arens. For each case, the given data include the 2-min lidar particle extinction profiles (for periods with the presence of ice virga), lidar-retrieved aerosol optical parameters (for periods with cloud-free situation before or after cloud presence), and ice crystal number concentration profiles derived with the method from Buehl et al. (2019). This data are used to generate a study/manuscript that is submitted to and currently under review by Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres (He et al., 2025).

本数据集包含由德国莱布尼茨对流层研究所(Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research, TROPOS)通过地基激光雷达与雷达联合观测获取的层状混合相云(stratiform mixed-phase cloud)个例,观测区域覆盖塞浦路斯利马索尔(Limassol)与智利蓬塔阿雷纳斯(Punta Arenas)。其中利马索尔区域共12个个例,蓬塔阿雷纳斯区域共8个个例。针对每个个例,数据集提供以下类型的数据:分辨率为2分钟的激光雷达粒子消光廓线(对应存在冰幡(ice virga)的时段)、激光雷达反演得到的气溶胶光学参数(对应云系出现前后的无云时段),以及基于Buehl等人2019年提出的方法反演得到的冰晶数浓度廓线。本数据集相关的研究手稿已提交至《地球物理研究杂志:大气卷》(Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres),目前处于同行审稿阶段(He et al., 2025)。
