It depicts polygons of gazetted boundaries defining the Local Government Area. It contains all of the cadastral line data or topographic features which are used to define the boundaries between adjoining shires, municipalities, cities (Local Government Act) and the unincorporated areas of NSW.The dataset also contains Council Names, ABS Codes, Ito Codes, Vg Codes, and Wb Codes. This dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m. 本服务采用与澳大利亚地心基准1994(Geocentric Datum of Australia 1994, GDA94)对齐的世界大地测量系统1984(World Geodetic System 1984, WGS 84)坐标系。本数据集的空间参考为[WGS 84 ≈ GDA94],在GDA2020(Geocentric Datum of Australia 2020)环境中查看时可能出现坐标偏移。另有带“multiCRS”后缀的同类服务,可支持GDA2020、GDA94及WGS 84 ≈ GDA2020坐标系环境。

新南威尔士州地方政府区域数据集隶属于行政边界主题(基础空间数据框架(Foundation Spatial Data Framework, FSDF)),用于呈现经官方公布的地方政府区域多边形边界。数据集包含所有用于界定相邻郡、自治市、城市(依据《地方政府法》)与新南威尔士州未纳入地方政府管辖的区域之间边界的地籍线数据或地形特征。
本数据集同时包含议会名称、澳大利亚统计局代码(Australian Bureau of Statistics Codes, ABS Codes)、Ito代码、Vg代码及Wb代码。数据集的任何变更均需在土地地块与产权要素类的权威参考项中进行标注。
各地方政府区域的要素在土地地块与产权多边形范围内保持拓扑对齐,并在后续地籍维护与升级带来的变更中持续保持对齐状态。

精度说明:
本数据集与地块及产权数字数据集保持位置关联与对齐。本数据集通过数字化多种比例尺与精度的现有最佳地籍测绘成果制作,比例尺范围覆盖1:500至1:250000,符合澳大利亚国家测绘委员会1975年发布的《地图精度标准》。因此,90%的明确要素点在对应比例尺地图上的位置误差不超过0.5mm,即:1:500比例尺对应0.25米、1:2000比例尺对应1米、1:4000比例尺对应2米、1:25000比例尺对应12.5米、1:50000比例尺对应25米、1:100000比例尺对应50米。
目前本数据集的空间位置与精度升级工作正在持续推进中。
