This dataset has been generated to identify the contributing habitat (feeding) area to areas of potential water bird nesting sites across the Murray Darling Basin. This information coupled with existing datasets (water bird observations) will be used to build upon current knowledge of water birds and their requirements within the basin. This in turn will help inform environmental watering with a view to sustain and improve water bird breeding throughout the basin.\n\n\n\nLineage: Two-monthly layers for contributing area (hectares) of water bird habitat (~100m resolution; MDB extent; bi-monthly time-step; 1988-2020). The collection contains four different datasets constructed from the combination two parameters, focal radius and water depth range. 具体计算逻辑如下:针对输入图层(即双月洪水深度数据集第二版,详见下文关联数据集)中的每个栅格单元(raster cell),若该单元存在水体值或处于距离水体500米范围内,则以该单元为中心,基于给定聚焦半径计算周边符合指定水深范围的栅格单元数量,进而换算得到对应面积。
