Heat cadastre for Freiburg i. Br. Planned heat network expansion (BadenovaWÄRMEPLUS)

BadenovaWÄRMEPLUS intends to significantly expand district heating in Freiburg. The map provides an overview of the gradual development of new areas (as of July 2023) and is regularly updated.
• The green areas are already developed with district heating. Here, a connection is possible after a technical test within two years.
• Concrete plans for the expansion of the heating networks are available in the purple and orange areas.
• Blue framed are the planned heat alliances Freiburg Süd and West. In these areas, the expansion of the heating networks is foreseen, but not yet fixed in time. It is expected that not all roads or buildings within these areas can be accessed for district heating.
• The map “Aptitude Areas Heat Networks and Heat Pumps” (from the master plan Wärme Freiburg 2030) shows other districts defined as the suitability area of heating network. Based on this, BadenovaWÄRMEPLUS intends to develop further heat networks in the north, south-west and east. It is not yet possible to enter any time details.

Within all areas, according to BadenovaWÄRMEPLUS: All requests for a district heating connection are checked. Anchor customers (with > 1 MWh heat sales per track meter) can be connected directly after testing.
